My Wild Back Yard

I live pretty close to the city of Washington, D.C., but lots of wildlife still lives in and around my yard. When I'm gardening or landscaping, I try to enhance  habitat components (food, water, shelter, space to raise babies safely) in order to encourage and welcome wildlife. This is partly because I think it's the right thing to do, but it's also selfish-- I like to watch the wild plants and animals go about their lives.

Here are some of my posts about helping and interacting with my yard's inhabitants. Let me know if you have any questions about your own yard habitat and animals that I might answer!
